2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and any display name you provide. Authentication is managed through our database provider (Supabase).

2.2 User Content

We store content you create within the Service, including:

• Recipes (imported, pasted, or manually entered)
• Meal plans and calendar assignments
• Pantry inventory items
• Shopping lists
• Dietary profiles and household preferences

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you access the Service, including your browser type, operating system, pages viewed, time spent, and interaction patterns. This data is collected through Google Analytics 4 and server-side logging.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Process and structure recipes using AI (Anthropic Claude API)
• Generate meal plans, shopping lists, and pantry suggestions
• Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets)
• Sync meal plans with your calendar (when you enable Google Calendar integration)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the user experience
• Respond to support inquiries

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate KitBee. Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data:

• Supabase — Authentication and database hosting. Stores your account data and user content.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — AI-powered recipe parsing and structuring. Recipe text you submit may be sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models.
• Google — Google Analytics 4 for usage analytics. Google Calendar integration (optional, OAuth-based) for syncing meal plans.
• Resend — Transactional email delivery (verification, password resets).
• Vercel — Application hosting and edge network delivery.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following tracking technologies:

• Google Analytics 4 cookies — Used to understand how visitors interact with the Service. These cookies are only set after you provide consent through our cookie banner.
• Authentication cookies — Essential cookies managed by Supabase to keep you signed in.
• localStorage — Used to store user preferences (theme, UI state) locally on your device. This data never leaves your browser.

You can disable non-essential cookies through the cookie consent banner or your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the Service.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account information and user content for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual recipes, meal plans, pantry items, and shopping lists at any time through the Service.

To request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at support@kitbee.ai. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

KitBee is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@kitbee.ai and we will take steps to delete such information.
